About Tai Seng

Over a hundred years ago, a Cantonese opera troupe in a slow boat crossed the Pacific Ocean to San Francisco. Once there, they staged shows like "The Pear Garden" to early Chinese immigrants deprived of entertainment in their native language. For many years thereafter, traveling Chinese operas were the only source of entertainment for the Chinese in America.
